    Summary:

    As an IT Operations System Technician, you will be responsible for Tier 2 level support for a Global IT infrastructure platforms and applications. You will work with a wide variety of the latest and best in class technologies. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  Position focuses on infrastructure operations support and system availability.

    Responsibilities:

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Tier 2 troubleshooting on wide range of incidents, ranging from web services, platforms, infrastructure, network, security, telecommand applications.
    • Provide technical guidance and assistance to Incident Coordinators.
    • Work closely with or escalate to Tier 3 groups including System Administrators, Networks, DevOps, Development Engineers etc.
    • Create and maintain SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures).
    • Identify and proactively resolve potential systems problems or escalate to appropriate next level for resolution.
    • Continuously develop and improve on technical aptitude, service knowledge
    • Participate in special projects as required.

    Requirements:

    • Strong Unix proficiency, ideally with Linux (Admin).  Script support, design, and implementation.
    • Exceptional troubleshooting skills in the following areas: Linux/Unix, MS Windows Server 2012 and 2016.
    • Python and shell bash scripting.
    • Strong understanding of networking including TCP/IP, routing, LAN, and WAN.
    • Executes the role with a high level of personal and professional accountability.
    • Highly motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
    • Works independently and is highly detail oriented.
    • Adapts quickly to the changing needs of the organization and its key stakeholders. “Fast learner”.
    • BS-Computer Science, technical certificate or similar training/certification.
    • 3+ years similar experience in corporate Enterprise IT organization, preferably within a global organization.
    • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work on a rotational shift basis, on weekends, and outside of typical business hours.
    • Possesses a mixture of skills related to information technology operations.
    • Strong knowledge of virtualization; open stack, and VMWare ESX server setup/administration.
    • Monitors for all infrastructure alerts across platforms and alert types.  Takes appropriate action as defined by the relevant production support documents/protocols/procedures.
    • Participates on incident chats, bridges, and crisis management events; takes direction from the Incident Manager on duty for specific incidents.

    Desirable Skills:

    • Experience providing remote support for end users and systems
    • Experience with applications based on Java, JEE, MSSQL, MySQL
    • ITIL® Foundation certification.
